Service Description: The Solid Waste Department provides solid waste and recycling collection areas. The collection areas are for the use of Rutherford County residents only. The department operates fourteen Recycling Centers (formerly known as Convenience Centers) throughout the county and provides recycling and waste collection and transportation service for all the County and City schools.
Limited disposal services are provided by the operation of a Class III/IV, construction and demolition waste, landfill. The Rutherford County Landfill also accepts off-the-rim waste tires and brush.
Recycling services are coordinated by the department. The department operates a recycle only site within the county. Haley Road accepts electronic waste for recycling Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays.
